True Hearts –Homeward Prayers

With a myriad of unrest and chaos in Eswatini, the Worcester family is headed back to the USA for a season. This update is from Badplaas, South Africa, where we are staying at Lydia’s Mission, Claire Brown, Director. Please continue to pray for Eswatini as the country sorts out its future.

Pray! Eswatini needs a Miracle!

Eswatini is desperately in need of your prayers. The whole country is in turmoil. There is rioting, tear gas, shootings, and all roads and transport are blocked and businesses are closed.  If there is not a resolution soon people will die who can’t get access to food or hospitals. We are safe at home but unable to help anyone at this point. Pray that God intervenes quickly! In the Name of Jesus!  We have to be careful what we post on social media. Please don’t tag us in anything but follow these sights for updates. These are Facebook pages.

Times of Eswatini

Masked Value

I didn’t know the true value of a face mask until this morning during church at Healing Place Mbabane, Eswatini.  It was the second song,

“I’m no longer a slave to fear.  I am a child of God.”

Tears started unexpectedly streaming down my face.  Couldn’t stop them.  Started singing at the top of my lungs, “ I am a child of God.”  Then the fourth song,

“I will love you Lord, my strength, I will love you Lord, my shield,

I will love you Lord, my Rock.  Forever all my days, I will love you Lord.”

Honestly, my nose ran with so much fluid that my face mask revealed it’s best purpose, ‘to hide one’s face while one has a moment with God in a public space.  I didn’t expect that moment, but the moment turned into an hour of profound connection with God that showed me another value, ‘the value of church.’

The last few months have been challenging in Eswatini, to say the least.  Continued civil chaos has left this mark of profound uncertainty and worry.  I didn’t know just how much I have been affected by worry while trying to protect my family and those around us.  This past week alone, we have been dodging the deployed military, protestors and rioters—our church was nearly burned down last Friday.  It is hard to know when it is safe to travel to get supplies or work in our ministry projects.  Fear had overcome me in an overwhelming way.

So, the value of church–what is some of the church’s value?

–To take your emotions to God through collective song that can release hidden struggle.

–To say the words you feel, out loud, even unconsciously, can bring healing.

–To struggle through the moment with others who have the same journey brings collective strength.

–To feel the presence of God, to feel release.

— To feel being loved.

For these values, there is no substitute.  We are coping with an epidemic which has been separating the people from the source of healing while claiming that the separation will keep us safe.  I would rather die with COVID than to miss the presence of God through in-person church.

Don’t MASK your connection with God, Go to church! Thank you God for a good church where I can pour out my heart.  Sing with me….

Pray for Eswatini.

No Offense –5

From the latest headline to social media comments, to the person who just cut you off in traffic—there are plenty of opportunities to be offended each day. But what if we decided to respond differently to those around us? Together, let’s learn how to live with No Offense.

Eswatini Update –Oct. 1, 2021

The last few months has brought a season of preparation. With the uncertainty of personal safety amid civil unrest, we have spent time and resources on security and supplies. We have built a chicken coup and have 20 chickens (layers and the next set of layers.) We have planted a garden with 21 different food sources and will plant the fall plants in a few months. Although we do share food to some of the local folks who struggle with poverty (supplying mealy, oil, rice and beans), we are assisting in developing some agriculture products for our neighbors (silage, free-range chicken coups, and an aqua-ponics project) in order that they may produce food for themselves.

Our major project (the abandoned baby house) has been immersed in governmental red tape. We are awaiting the final cerftificate of opperation, which should be ready any day. Care for the ‘wee-ones’ is a day by day wait. We are so ready.

Thanks for your prayers and assistance through support. Ministry to the least, last, and the lost in Eswatini are in large part because of our ministry supporters. We are so blessed.
